Position Description

Ojo Spa Resorts is seeking an experienced, full-time Staff Accountant to join our team. The role is responsible for performing high-level accounting duties, collaborating closely with accounting staff, department managers, the Controller, the General Manager, and the Managing Partner. This position encompasses responsibilities in various functional areas, including accounts payable, cash management and deposits, petty cash management, benefits administration, budgeting, reporting, accounts receivable (groups), daily labor reporting, and credit card allocations. Furthermore, the Staff Accountant contributes to the development and maintenance of SOPs associated with these functions.

Requirements

1. Minimum of two years of accounting and/or cash handling experience; experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.

2. Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.

3. Strong mathematics skills and exceptional attention to detail.

4. Accurate in all cash counting and handling procedures.

5. Proficient in QuickBooks.

6. Intermediate or advanced competency in MS Excel, Outlook, and other Office programs, including the ability to use formula functions in Excel, and manage mail rules, tasks, and appointments in Outlook.

7. Experience with payroll software and/or HRIS, and/or Agilysys is a plus.

8. Analytical, methodical thinker with an organized and meticulous approach to work.

9. Strategic and creative problem solver with excellent follow-through.

10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

11. Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

12. Availability to work holidays and/or weekends, with a five-day work week schedule.

13. Physical ability to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push, and pull items weighing 40 pounds or less.

14. Manual dexterity, strong auditory and visual skills, ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures, and professional communication skills.
