Summary/Objective
The Financial Director will be responsible for strengthening and managing the financial operations in support of all business groups. They will develop and lead business leader’s financial decisions through support, counsel, analytics, and reporting. This role reports to the CFO and leads a team.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and enhances financial planning processes and corporate-wide requirements; improves and develops financial forecasting and planning standards
  • Be a true Business Partner to the commercial teams, providing accurate and timely financial analysis of key commercial initiatives providing joint business planning support.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to customize deal structures to meet customers' specific requirements, including, but not limited to participating in customer meetings.
  • Ensures that the financial planning and budgeting processes are linked to ODW’s long-term operational strategies
  • Performs variance analysis vs. prior years, budgets, and plans; include accompanying written business analysis to identify problem areas and make suggestions for improvement; develop and analyze performance metrics
  • Supports ODW’s key initiatives including new business proposals, acquisitions, and/or cost reductions
  • Assists in preparing Board materials and other formal financial packages for senior management, on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Assists in coordinating the annual budget and present to senior management monthly updates on business risks and opportunities that will have a financial impact on the business
  • Leas the evaluation needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Lead staff training and development in budgeting and financial management areas.
  • Capacity for managing and leading people; ability to connect to staff both individually and in large groups; capacity to enforce accountability; ability to develop and empower leaders from the bottom up and lead from the top down; strong commitment to follow-through; and high emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to think creatively about staffing and organizational structure.
  • Ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends and incorporate them into the organizational planning
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Management, or equivalent work experience preferred (Master’s degree highly preferred)
  • 5-8 years of Financial Leadership experience preferred. Demonstrated progressive accounting and leadership experience
  • Field Finance or Commercial Finance experience preferred
  • Prior 3PL, logistics, or supply chain management experience preferred

Minimum Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee requires the ability to:

  • Hear, read and comprehend, write and communicate
  • Occasionally sit, type and perform repetitive wrist motion
  • Continuously stand, walk, bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn or reach on even and uneven surfaces
  • Focus (with or without corrective lenses) to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities
