ODU combines all relevant areas of expertise and key technologies including design and development, machine tooling and special machine construction, injection, stamping, turning, surface technology, assembly and cable assembly. ODU connectors ensure a reliable transmission of power, signals, data and media for a variety of demanding applications including medical technology, military and security, automotive, industrial electronics, and test and measurement.

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the full life cycle and management of customer projects for the development of products, from inquiry to production. This includes coordination of all project activities, planning, and decision making and acting as intermediary, with the ultimate goal of achieving project targets.

Responsibilities

  • Creates project targets and analyzes their content, assessing feasibility (cost, risk, etc.) developing specifications and ensures specifications are mutually accepted with appropriate parties; identifies risk and countermeasures as part of this process
  • Coordinates all project activities, acting as interface to the customer alongside internal department, issues instructions to project staff and arbitrates in the event of conflicts of interest in order to achieve project target
  • Responsible for technical clarification and communication with the customer, providing technical clarification for internal teams as needed
  • Carries out project cost planning, determining and coordinating tool and investment cost, along with required resources and requirements; identifies appropriate specialists within internal departments to form core project team, setting clear expectations and communication channels
  • Responsible for project documentation and project
  • Oversees control of the project with coordination according to the processes, such as defining of project processes, deadlines, resources and milestones
  • Determines and evaluates planned versus actual deviations (costs/time/quality) and early intervention in the event of changes, updating the existing project plan accordingly; responsible for project budget and justifications for any variances
  • Responsible for the transfer of complete project to series production
  • Upon project completion, makes a post-calculation, conducting final project meeting, processing of experiences and completing project documentation for use in future projects
  • Handles other duties and projects as assigned.
