Oceans Healthcare will expand behavioral health services in Jackson, opening fall 2024. Oceans Healthcare of Jackson, a 77-bed facility will expand inpatient capacity for adult and senior behavioral health patients and add new services, including an intensive outpatient program. The freestanding hospital will be located on the St. Dominic's campus.

Opening Fall 2024

The Director of Intake must be able to move patients into nursing facilities, long- term care, hospices, senior living centers and similar places. Work with hospitals, developing good relationships with those facilities to understand the individual's needs, work with nurses and medical staff at their facility to make sure they are prepared for the person with all vital information. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls patient registration and hospital admitting operations.

Essential Functions:

1. Responds to inquiry calls - completes inquiry forms accurately, schedules assessments in a timely manner and documents follow-up calls made regarding pending assessments.
2. Refers patients who are not appropriate for facility programs to appropriate resources.
3. Oversees Intake department and employees; trains employees the admission process; analyzes data to determine focus.
4. Manages employees completing admission forms and CIA documents accurately.
5. Promotes specialty clinics in the community to highlight Adult and/or Geriatric Psychiatry Unit's program and services; maintains community relations.
6. Maintains daily communication with co-workers to ensure quality service to customers; provides feedback to measure effectiveness of strategies.
7. Coordinates admissions process for patients admitted to facility programs.
8. Tracks performance and conversion rates; performs audits to make processes seamless.
9. Follows up with any complaints and/or issues within the department.
10. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
