Occupational Training Center is Hiring a Food Service Cashier Near Wrightstown, NJ

JOB PREVIEW:

Under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor provides cash handling and meal cards transactions in a fast-paced environment by using point of sale register in accordance with the Statement of Work as outlined by management.

  • Operate computer cash register and accurately handle monetary and meal card transactions for military and civilian personnel quickly and efficiently.
  • Ensure the work areas are clean and sanitized following all health and safety regulations codes.
  • Understand daily menu item, collect payment for purchases and make change accordingly and accurately.
  • Maintains and records each transaction on reports, forms and cash register by complying with all rules and regulations set forth in the cashier manual.
  • Reconciles cash drawer at the start and end of shift. Ensure all monies, documents and forms are secured and returned to the assigned Office Manager in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform food service attendant duties as required by the Project Manager.
  • Record and report all discrepancies immediately to the Supervisor.
  • Willingly and effectively cooperates with OTC, The Department of Human Services, The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and other licensing or state agency or local municipalities in any inspections and investigations, upon request.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills required, able to count US currency quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to stand or bend for lengthy periods of time at the work area without moving more than 10 feet.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend information in English, able to adhere to health and sanitation standards.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes split shifts, evenings, and weekends.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Necessary Special Requirements

  • Employee should agree to have their name verified against the Central Registry of offenders against individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Employee shall submit to drug testing prior to employment and agree to submit to drug testing upon random selection and for cause.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.20 per hour
