About This Role
To provide middle school students with both high-impact tutoring and acceleration opportunities at Brooks Middle School (from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM) and exploration activities (11:00AM - 4:00PM) including such programs as College for Kids at Triton College. College for Kids is a career exploration program where students can select majors and minors in various fields, receiving direct instruction from college instructors and engaging in hands-on activities.
The program will provide training to teachers in support of the district’s equity commitments as expressed in Board Policy 7:12: Ensuring Racial and Educational Equity.
Essential Role Responsibilities:
Implement individualized learning plans
Implement acceleration learning plans
Receive coaching and feedback on their teaching
Report to the program site daily, during the program, June 10 - June 28 2024, Monday through Thursday 8:45-11:15 am, and Friday from 8:45 am to 12:15 pm (no class on June 19)
Attend staff meeting once per week, (8:30-8:45 am)
Facilitate morning arrival and departure of students
Take student attendance on a daily basis
Communicate with families weekly on student progress
Attend training on June 6 & 7
Participate in the Open House on June 7
Content Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS and/or EXPERIENCE

Teacher Certification
Teachers outside of the Oak Park community will be considered based on openings
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the performance of light work—which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. The position includes close visual acuity, frequent talking, hearing, walking and standing, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed in non-hazardous environments and a clean atmosphere. The position requires indoor and outdoor supervision during varying temperatures and climatic conditions.
