DUTIES DESCRIPTION:
The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Mental Health Program Specialist, in the Bureau of Institutional and Transitional Services (BITS), the Mental Health/Criminal Justice Collaboration Unit (MH/CJ) within the Division of Forensic Services (DFS). MH/CJ Unit provides support and technical assistance including suicide prevention and mental health training in local correctional facilities, appropriate mental health training for criminal justice staff whose jobs bring them in contact with persons who are mentally ill, alternatives to incarceration, community mental health provider skill enhancement and training, and curriculum development and training facilitation in collaboration with state and local criminal justice agencies. The incumbent would ensure the efficient operation of the Criminal Justice/Mental Health Collaboration unit by performing a wide range of administrative tasks related to correspondence, management of training material, and calendar management; work coordination; customer service; fielding of questions; information gathering; and compilation of reports.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a high school or high school equivalency diploma; and three years of experience performing clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional work in an office environment.
