The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Facility Operations Assistant 1 position. These are temporary/hourly positions in the Bureau of Environmental Design and Improvement located in the New York City area.
DUTIES DESCRIPTION:
Specific duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This is a labor class position. There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. A Facility Operations Assistant 1 must be physically able to perform the duties assigned and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license is preferred, but not required, for these positions.
SCHEDULE: Workweek: Schedule Monday - Friday; 40 hours per week; 7AM - 3:30PM
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
These positions are part of the New York City Revite team that travels between facilities in the New York City area performing special project renovations, ongoing maintenance, small repair and environmental improvement projects. The regional revitalization team concept was first adopted for the New York City region in 1984-85, and soon expanded to five regions that cover the entire state. The Environmental Revitalization Teams are made up of temporary Trades Generalists, Maintenance Assistant, and Facility Operations Assistant 1 positions that perform ongoing maintenance and small renovation projects to augment facility support staff services. The teams operate on an ongoing basis, making visits at each OMH facility in the region twice each year.
