Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst to join their team! The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and modifying complex technical computer software. This analyst meets project deadlines to insure satisfactory function of the software.

Duties:

• Frequently work with outside vendor representatives and technical teams that interface with internal applications
• Be in a on-call rotation supporting applications 24/7
• Provide technical support to programming and operations areas
• Work with other systems programmers to develop, install, modify, and maintain the operation system, software products and/or subsystems for network management, performance, and capacity management
• Lead the testing, debugging and modifications of software applications and validates their efficient use and integration
• Support complex computer software such as utility programs, job control language, macros, and subroutines
• Provide technical advice on the operating system and subsystems including performance monitoring and measurement activity
• Assist with the training of less experienced Systems Programmers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5 years of related experience working in an IT environment providing production support for vendor applications with experience in installing, maintaining, and managing multiple applications/systems
• 5 years knowledge and/or experience in a Windows and UNIX environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of job schedulers to create jobs including tasks and processes
• Knowledge/experience with version control practices and version control tools
• Good understanding of IT system administration best practices
• Good understanding of JVMs
• Good understanding of Oracle and SQL databases and writing queries
• Comfortable with at least one type of shell scripting (Power Shell,KSH, Bash, Perl, WLS, etc.)
• Understanding of System change control processes
