Northstar Aerospace is Hiring a Production Supervisor Near Phoenix, AZ
SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position will supervise employees in the QA and special processing departments. This position will lead the Team to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Metrics. This position is in NorthStar’s Operations Department, and reports to the Site Leader. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary and directs the work of 10 employees. This is a full-time position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure safe and positive work environment for employees, while promoting the NS Culture.
- Train employees on procedures and work instructions necessary to meet QMS requirements.
- Execute department goals and review employees on individual performance.
- Identify and mitigate performance issues following NS policy.
- Perform process audits to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create a flexible workforce able to adapt to the resource demands of a mixed model cell.
- Update work instructions to clarify inputs and outputs of inspections operations.
- Identify and improve inspection planning methods.
- Develop effective inspection planning during NPI.
- Participate and occasionally lead activity in RCCA, Kaizen, and ZDP events.
- Capable of performing receiving, in-process, and final inspection when bottlenecks occur.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, writing, and typing.
- Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
- Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending and repetitive motion.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, fumes, or airborne particles.
- The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical field is a plus.
Experience Required: 5 year’s aerospace experience plus supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED

- Knowledge and understanding of requirements related to AS9100.
- Knowledge of inspection techniques including CMM.
- Ability to review product specifications and extract requirements.
- Blueprint reading, including interpretation of GD&T.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
