Payroll Manager – ConstructionOur client has an immediate need for a Payroll & Human Resources Manager.Responsibilities:
- Managing and processing weekly payroll via a third-party payroll service, including auditing payroll processing, and resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Payroll reporting for contract employees.
- Providing guidance to employees regarding payroll matters.
- Completing certified payroll reporting on certain projects.
- Tracking employees’ vacation balances.
- Remitting weekly 401k contributions.
- Reporting weekly wages for workers’ compensation to insurance company.
- Working with 401k providers in assisting with employee loan and distribution transactions.
- 401k administration, including providing annual census reports.
- Reconciling monthly statements from insurance providers and notification of new hires and terminations.
- Working with CFO and third-party broker in annual selection of benefits providers.
- Administration of open enrollment, including providing current data, distributing employee packets, and collecting and reporting enrollment selections.
- Assisting CFO in annual workers’ compensation audits.
- Onboarding new employees.
- Managing short-and long-term disability claims with insurance providers.
- Managing workers’ compensation claims – working with Operations to gather information and file necessary reports, following up with the claimant, and working with insurance provider for the duration of the claim.
- Staying up to date on Human Resources legislation changes, industry issues, etc.
- Bachelor's degree and five or more years of experience in Payroll and HR Administration.
- Expertise in payroll processing software and Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability easily communicate with both field employees (e.g., non-native English speakers) and management team.
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of HR policies and procedures including onboarding and benefits administration.
- Construction industry experience preferred but not required.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
