Payroll Manager – ConstructionOur client has an immediate need for a Payroll & Human Resources Manager.Responsibilities:
Managing and processing weekly payroll via a third-party payroll service, including auditing payroll processing, and resolving payroll discrepancies.
Payroll reporting for contract employees.
Providing guidance to employees regarding payroll matters.
Completing certified payroll reporting on certain projects.
Tracking employees’ vacation balances.
Benefits Administration
Remitting weekly 401k contributions.
Reporting weekly wages for workers’ compensation to insurance company.
Working with 401k providers in assisting with employee loan and distribution transactions.
401k administration, including providing annual census reports.
Reconciling monthly statements from insurance providers and notification of new hires and terminations.
Working with CFO and third-party broker in annual selection of benefits providers.
Administration of open enrollment, including providing current data, distributing employee packets, and collecting and reporting enrollment selections.
Assisting CFO in annual workers’ compensation audits.
Human Resources Management
Onboarding new employees.
Managing short-and long-term disability claims with insurance providers.
Managing workers’ compensation claims – working with Operations to gather information and file necessary reports, following up with the claimant, and working with insurance provider for the duration of the claim.
Staying up to date on Human Resources legislation changes, industry issues, etc.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and five or more years of experience in Payroll and HR Administration.
Expertise in payroll processing software and Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability easily communicate with both field employees (e.g., non-native English speakers) and management team.
Strong attention to detail and highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Knowledge of HR policies and procedures including onboarding and benefits administration.
Construction industry experience preferred but not required.
