Northern Wholesale Supply Inc is Hiring a Service Desk Technician Near Hugo, MN

Summary:

The IT Service Desk Technician interacts with technical and non-technical users in an understandable, friendly, and concise manner while solving complex technical issues. Triage and troubleshoot IT Service Desk calls, emails, chats, and walkup's. Actively listen and identify trends for proactive process improvement. Manage equipment deployments, inventory, knowledge management, self-portal, service catalog, and grow IT service management processes.

Primary Duties:

  • Classify, prioritize, and escalate incidents and service requests.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, networking, and software issues.
  • Create problems for root cause analysis.
  • Provide in person, over the phone, or remote access support.
  • Propose simple, effective, and timely solutions.
  • Travel to nearby facilities.
  • Install new hardware and software.
  • Configure new desktops, mobile devices, and assist with routers, modems, and other network hardware.
  • Provide basic computer training and assist in writing and editing training manuals.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred education/certification in information technology or computer science or equal work experience
  • 1 years work experience as desktop support or help desk support.
  • Strong active listening, attention to detail, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and document technical troubleshooting steps
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and identify trends and devise preventive solutions
  • Ability to adapt and demonstrate patience
  • Ability to think creatively, be thoughtful and take initiative
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues
  • Flexibility to assist with after-hours issues when needed

Preferred
  • Some college or better in Computer Science or related field
