Since 2015, NovumHealth has managed the mental health and substance abuse services for residents of Nevada. We have created a network of providers who focus on the core principles of recovery: strengths-based, person-centered, individualized treatment and support for people with mental illness and substance use disorders.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with clients as a peer by sharing common experiences and modeling resiliency and recovery.
  • Meeting with clients regularly to offer one-on-one support and counseling.
  • Developing recovery plans, coping methods, and rehabilitation strategies with the client.
  • Arranging medical appointments, therapy sessions, support groups, and other resources to aid the client.
  • Monitoring the client's behavior, schedule, medication, and activities.
  • Reporting any unusual behavior, conflicts, or recovery deviations to the relevant professionals.
  • Coordinating the client's logistics such as medical appointments and therapy sessions, among others.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year's experience as a peer support specialist.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Phone skills including: voicemail, forwarding, hold, and taking messages.
  • Computer skills including: Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Highly compassionate and attentive to detail.
  • Experience demonstrating an understanding of the principles of recovery and resiliency.
