**POSITION SUMMARY:**

The Volunteer Support Specialist is responsible for duties relating to the development and retention of volunteers and girl members. She/he provides leadership and support to train and recognize volunteers and girl members. She/he helps guide the direction of service units, and other volunteer committees.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

* Provide council-wide support for programs.

* Develop, cultivate, and support relationships with community program partners that expands Girl Scout programming.

* Keep current on organizational knowledge and best practices by participating in GSUSA webinars, participating in Chatter groups, and utilizing gsConnect.

* Serve as a resource for current volunteers regarding council and GSUSA policies, procedures, safety, and paperwork questions.

* Active participation in the development of environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and access through words, actions, and attitude.

* Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.

**Education and Experience:**

* Associates or higher, or 2 years of related experience

* Experience using customer management systems, Salesforce experience desired.
