The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Controller Will assist the CFO with the overall fiscal operations of Northern Children’s Services. Duties include but are not limited to: Ensuring and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures and to assist in providing accurate and timely financial statements to be reviewed by the Leadership Team, Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors monthly.
Work is performed in accordance with established GAAP and Company regulations, policies and procedures, but employees are expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in discharging duties.

All materials and necessary equipment to perform job function are provided. Staff members may be transferred if it has been decided to be in the best interest of the agency and will enhance services provided.

This individual will be evaluated on an annual basis (please refer to the Personnel Policy Manual.) Salary increases and promotions will be based upon quality of performance, seniority and length of experience. If it is brought to the attention of the Chief Financial Officer or President/CEO that this individual has become ineffective in executing his/her responsibilities; the agency reserves the right to terminate employment.
Minimum Requirement
Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required. Preferably in accounting.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience in accounting position.
Substitutions: Appropriate substitutions may be made for an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Two (2) years experience = One (1) year education and training.
