Summary: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the production department of the Houston plant.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent (Crosby, TX)

Schedule:  12 hour shift 7AM-7PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of operators in the achievement of production targets;
• Manage the performance of their team members and offer the necessary coaching and feedback to promote positive employee behavior and constructive development;
• Develop and implement the necessary operational systems to support reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operations. Such systems include but not limited to: Operator and Production Scheduling, Overtime Scheduling, Continuous Improvement projects, Production Reporting, Inventory Tracking & Control, 5S and Visual Factory, etc;
• Manage the Health and Safety program on their assigned shift and ensure that unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviors are quickly addressed;
• Support the development of a quality management systems and manage the quality of the products manufactured on their shift;
• Facilitate the communication process on their shift including the establishment of beginning of shift team huddles;
• Manage all shipping and inventory management activities on their shift in a timely and customer-centric fashion;
• Perform other duties as required.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of production management experience in an industrial products industry, preferably in forming, injection molding, die casting or similar processes
• People management experience of teams of 20 employees working in different departments;
• College diploma in a Technical or Operations Management discipline;
• An Engineering degree would be an asset but not a requirement;

Qualifications:

• A successful track record in implementing and managing positive change;
• Effective leadership and people skills are required;
• Hands-on technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills required;
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is organizational skills;
• Intermediate to advanced MS Applications skills especially in MS Excel required;

• Ability to work well with individuals from different backgrounds and skills at various levels in the organization;
• Effective time management, job task planning and organizing
• Critical thinker and analytical decision maker who is also a creative, solution-oriented individual who can think out of the box and thrives in an innovative environment;
• Exhibits strong initiative, needs little to no supervision and direction, highly organized and takes pride in their work;
• Ability to maintain a professional disposition at all times, especially when under pressure.

• May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
