The Quality Director oversees the activities of the quality control department and develops and maintains the company’s quality program.Responsibilities:Develops and implements quality control training systemsEnsures compliance with all site and company regulations, including personal protective equipment (PPE) requirementsDevelops and oversees the division's quality control operating budgetMaintains and communicates company quality standards to production teamsMonitors the performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiencyEvaluates policies and procedures to minimize nonconforming products and implements proactive solutionsConducts root cause analysis on nonconforming parts and facilitates timely corrective actionsGenerates inspection reports as necessaryManages calibration equipment inventory and certification recordsCommunicates quality-related information to internal and external customersStays updated on industry practices, advances in quality control procedures, and toolsReviews technical requirements and project documentsPrepares, transmits, and secures all required documentationEnsures accuracy and alignment of quality documentation with customer and code requirementsProactively resolves internal and external technical conflicts or issuesCoordinates and assists clients with inspectionsConducts vendor surveillanceOversees and reports the status of quality-related information to clients, North Shore Steel team, and other stakeholders as neededQualifications:5 years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance controlPrevious experience developing and implementing quality management programsBachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferredProficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and quality requirements for Oil & Gas, Department of Defense, Aerospace, and/or Commercial industriesPrevious experience leading a teamThorough understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systemsKnowledge and application of AWS and ASME codes and standardsExcellent time management skills with a track record of meeting deadlinesProficiency in data analysis and statistical methodsPhysical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.Maintain visual acuity as required by industry standards to review specifications.Fine motor skills necessary to manipulate measurement instruments.Benefits:North Shore Steel provides rich benefits to its full-time employees and their families, including, but not limited to, multiple Major Medical plans, Dental, Vision, Vol Life, Short Term Disability, and a Flex Spending Account.
