Job Description:

Part-time Special Programs Coordinator

Monday-Friday up to 20 hours per week, times will be flexible but will vary depending on need.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The part-time special program coordinator will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the campus basic needs centers, including but not limited to the food resources on campus, mobile markets and meal voucher program. This position will assist the Director of Student Engagement with the short term triage case management and/or social service referrals for students. This position is grant funded and subject for renewal based on the grant outcomes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the campus basic needs centers, including but not limited to the food resources on campus, mobile markets, and meal voucher program.
  • Collect and track data on the utilization of the food resources on campus, mobile markets and meal voucher program and provide monthly reports.
  • Respond to a variety of telephone, in person and email inquiries regarding basic needs.
  • Assist with the short term triage case management and/or social service referrals for students.
  • Work as part of a team to develop and facilitate presentations and/or events to raise awareness about the prevalence and considerations of food and housing insecurity and to destigmatize conversations about these topics.
  • Help provide outreach to specific populations as identified by Here to Help, Navigators, advising, or others on campus.
  • Actively participate in training experiences and other related duties assigned

Reports to: Student Essential Needs Coordinator

Requirements:

  • Earned Bachelor's degree in a field such as education, counseling, social work, sociology, or psychology is required. Current enrollment or graduation from a post-baccalaureate degree in any of these fields or higher education will also be considered.
  • A strong commitment to diversity and social justice.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity working in a college environment.
  • Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment

Additional Information:

SALARY RANGE: Anticipated starting salary is $30.03/hour
