Statement of Purpose Under the supervision of the Manager of Health Information Management or designee, codes hospital records using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT-4. Accurately assigns diagnostic and procedural codes to records of patients treated in the outpatient and inpatient setting.
Job Requirements
High school diploma required. Successful completion of a course in Medical Terminology required. A minimum of two years previous coding experience required. Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology required. Accreditation as RHIA, RHIT, CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), CPC (Certified Professional Coder), and/or COC (Certified Outpatient Coder) is required. A positive team player with good computer, technical, and communication skills is required.
