Central Regional Hospital
We are currently recruiting for an Administrative Specialist II to function as the Administrative Assistant to the Medical Director at Central Regional Hospital (CRH). This position also provides administrative and clerical support to the CRH Medical Staff, Continuing Medical Education, the Research Committee and Residency Training functions.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Answers phone for Chief Medical Officer’s office, dealing with issues that do not
require the Chief Medical Officer’s attention, taking messages if necessary and using judgment whether the call is urgent enough to warrant immediate attention. This function involves frequent public contact, often on sensitive matters requiring diplomatic response (complaints from members of the public, patient family members, patients, etc.).
Serves as telephone backup to the Hospital CEO’s Office and others as requested.
Types correspondence as needed by the Chief Medical Officer.
Prepares meeting agendas and types minutes for assigned meetings, committees, etc.
Maintains records.
Aids in the completion of the Monthly on-call schedule,
Tracks all licenses (Medical license, DEA license, NPI, malpractice), etc.
Monitors the credentialing process.
Other duties as appropriate and assigned.

The normal work hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday; however, flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Qualified applicants must possess and application clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:

Excellent secretarial, organizational, interpersonal, and keyboarding skills.

In-depth knowledge of policies and procedures, guidelines, governing bodies, and knowledge of personnel rules and regulations, JCAHO and CMS standards.

Experience preparing meeting agendas, minutes, presentations, travel arrangements, etc.

Ability to communicate with all disciplines within the hospital, with other agency staff, families and consumers with tact and professionalism.

Requires flexibility and adaptability in a high pressure, stressful situation with frequent deadlines. Must be able to deal with multiple tasks with frequent interruptions with ability to problem solve.

Advanced knowledge of computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office and Excel.

ADA requirements will be discussed during the interview process.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
