Job description

The North American Development Bank (NADBank), a binational financial institution created by the U.S. and Mexican governments with authorized capital of $6 billion and current lending of almost $1.5 billion, is seeking several Financial Analysts to join its team.

What You’ll Do:

Analysts are responsible for evaluating and verifying financial, economic, engineering and other information. Evaluations are conducted with a clear understanding of the subject matter by applying the appropriate analytical technique and process established by NADBank for that unit/department.

What You Bring to the Table:

The successful candidate should have the ability to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Consistently deliver analysis, recommendations, and/or reports according to established quality standards.
  • Perform routine analytical tasks in a team environment.
  • Exercise good judgement in safeguarding confidential or sensitive information with adherence to high standards of ethics and strict rules of confidentiality.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and carry-out multiple tasks to perform job functions in an orderly and efficient manner.
  • Research, review and analyze, financial statements and other relevant information. May be required to interpret business plans and external financial models, as required.
  • Build internal financial models and/or audit external financial models to assess a project’s or potential borrower's financial strength, as required.
  • Monitor project execution and/or borrower performance and to perform cash flow analysis and projections under various stress tests and sensitivity analysis scenarios, if required.
  • Assist in the preparation of the financial component of investment proposals presented to internal committees.
  • Prepare financial analyses and findings for internal committees. Experienced Financial Analysts will be required to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the project’s financial feasibility and effectively communicating concerns, risks, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Gather necessary information to conduct a comprehensive financial analysis and risk assessment of the borrower and/or proposed project.
  • Identify problems, analyze alternatives and communicate findings. Experience Financial Analyst will develop viable recommendations.
  • Support with special projects, presentations, and other duties, as assigned.
  • Conduct industry research for benchmarking comparison

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred but is not required.
  • Proven understanding of cashflow analysis and financial ratios
  • Understanding of working capital and liquidity
  • Basic understanding of different type of financing

Senior Analyst Must:

  • Have extensive experience modeling cashflows, stress scenarios, and interpret financial ratios.
  • Be experienced in identifying net operating gaps and potential strategies of funding to cover liquidity requirements.
  • Be capable of performing industry research for benchmarking on financial indicators and assess results.
  • Have experience modeling and evaluation complex funding such as equity, mezzanine financing and senior debt.
  • Be experienced in evaluating due diligence reports to identify potential risks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good oral and written communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts
  • Must be a critical thinker and be results oriented
  • Required to have excellent interpersonal skills, be a team player and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong analytical thinking with an ability to exercise good judgment to solve difficult problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
