The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and fostering new group business in various market segments into the hotel to increase sales. This position is focused on providing incomparable customer service for guests and serves as the strategic business leader of the property’s Sales Department. Responsible for property reactive sales, proactive account sales and segment sales, travel sales, reservation sales and destination sales. This position has shared goals for achieving revenue goals, guest and associate satisfaction and the overall financial performance of the department.
Essential Functions
Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
Provide complete oversight and management of all aspects of hotel sales operations.
Direct and supervise staff performance in all phases of service and job functions providing counseling as appropriate to address deficiencies with respective personnel.
Implements the brand’s service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process.
Leads on-property sales functions to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of property sales objectives
Consistently ensures Nobu Atlanta Hotel team informed on upcoming groups, events, or VIP clients in a professional and concise manner to anticipate guests needs and create guest loyalty Evaluates the property’s participation in the various sales channels and develops strong working relationships to maximize property’s benefits.
Ensure all newly hired and current sales staff understand their mission and have the tools to execute successfully on the Business Plan
Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales and marketing departments including all month end reports, annual budget and annual commercial plan.
Plan and manage sales and marketing resources according to agreed upon budgets
Responsible for prospecting new group business, entertaining, and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meeting and exceed revenue goals in rooms, food, beverage, audio visual and meeting room rental.
Develops and fosters business in the hotel’s guest rooms, meeting and event space for in-house groups, manages accounts, through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections, written communication, FAM Trips, tradeshows, community events, networking, and entertainment.
Develops effective group sales plans.
Prepares and presents effective proposals, maintains well organized verbal and written communication, uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
Develops relationships within industry community to strengthen and expand customer base for in-house groups and events sales opportunities.
Follow up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and are consistent with Nobu Hotel core values
Work closely with other key departments and internal stakeholders to gather the information necessary to manage projects, achieve goals, and resolve problems
This position is a working position and responsible for selling, booking and servicing an assigned market.Full Time
