Nivalmi Consulting is looking for a Warehouse/Shipping Manager for one of our clients. We're currently seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the role of Shipping Manager for our Louisville Distribution Center. This critical position involves leading an hourly team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our distribution center. Roles and Responsibilities:

Operational (50% of the time):

  • Enforce safety policies to ensure the well-being of our team members, customers, and visitors.
  • Oversee inbound, stocking, and outbound processes to ensure the efficient receipt and delivery of inventory.
  • Maintain an on-time delivery rate exceeding 97%.
  • Conduct daily cycle counting and audits on operational processes.
  • Provide training, coaching, and feedback to DC employees to foster growth and development.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and promptly resolve any discrepancies.

Supervisory (50% of the time):

  • Guide employees in daily operations, emphasizing safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Act as a change agent, promoting open communication and feedback among the team.
  • Resolve employee conflicts in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Conduct performance reviews and actively participate in the hiring and termination processes.
  • Provide immediate feedback to employees through factual data and observations.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager and HR for disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Analyze and present DC performance to executives, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Schedule employee vacations while maintaining optimal service levels.
  • Work with the Plant Manager to develop both short-term and long-term planning strategies.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a distribution/fulfillment center.
  • Experience managing a team of 6 to 15 employees.
  • Proficiency in inventory control, cycle counting, and standard work instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Knowledge of ERP, TMS, WMS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment: PIT certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations; OSHA-10 certification is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Experience with Lean-Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.

Working Environment:

  • Non-climate-controlled environment both indoors and outdoors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work may require standing and walking for up to 75% of the time.
  • Physically strenuous; ability to lift heavy packages weighing up to 75 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time
