Job Description:

As a Box Truck Mattress Delivery Driver, your primary responsibility will be to transport mattresses from the warehouse to customers' homes or designated locations efficiently and safely. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that customers receive their orders in pristine condition and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loading and Unloading: Safely load mattresses onto the box truck at the warehouse using proper lifting techniques and secure them to prevent shifting during transit. Unload mattresses at customers' locations, ensuring they are placed in the designated area without damage.
• Transportation: Operate the box truck in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Drive defensively and anticipate potential hazards to ensure the safety of yourself, other road users, and the cargo.
• Route Planning: Plan delivery routes efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize travel time. Familiarize yourself with the delivery schedule and utilize GPS or navigation tools to navigate unfamiliar areas effectively.
• Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including friendly and professional interaction with customers. Answer any questions customers may have regarding their delivery and assist with any concerns or issues that may arise.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of the box truck before and after each shift to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including verifying orders, obtaining customer signatures upon delivery, and completing any required paperwork or documentation.
• Adherence to Safety Procedures: Follow all company safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to safe lifting practices.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Prior experience driving box trucks or similar commercial vehicles required.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy mattresses safely, often with the assistance of hand trucks or other equipment.
• Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize deliveries and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform the essential duties of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

• This position primarily involves driving a box truck and delivering mattresses, requiring both indoor and outdoor work.
• May be exposed to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet delivery deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
