KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the assignment desk, editors, and show producers
- Communicate between desk/control room/feeds room to coordinate operations
- Track reporter hits, incoming scripts, and packages
- Assist assignment editors on compiling & ingesting video from various agencies (AP, Reuters, etc.)
- Monitor alerts on both traditional & social media for stories of interest
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Demonstrated interest in any of the core competencies related to the position, stemming from college or intern experience
- Team player with clear and effective communication
- Proactive in learning new skills
- Understand deadlines and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience tracking down social media and various platforms for the best visual content
- Flexibility working weekends, holidays, and evenings
Education
Required- Bachelors or better in Journalism or related field
- Bachelors or better in Communication or related field
