DevOps Engineer

Job Description Summary:
As a DevOps Engineer, your primary responsibility will be architecting, designing, and supporting various cloud and automation projects in a fast-paced, project-based environment. You'll leverage your expertise in Amazon Web Services, Python, and Git to develop and maintain automation solutions, deploy applications in the cloud, and enhance existing architectures. Your role will involve troubleshooting, providing guidance to junior team members, and actively identifying improvement opportunities.

Key Skills Required:
Expert knowledge of AWS, Python, and Git.
Proficiency in automation, including Terraform (nice to have), Ansible (nice to have), and working with REST APIs.
Familiarity with YAML and JSON.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and backend programming.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to cross-cultural environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Architect and design solutions for deploying applications in the cloud.
Develop and maintain automation scripts, with a focus on serverless code deployments.
Troubleshoot potential issues in pipelines or applications and provide resolutions.
Interact with internal users through ITSM and Jira ticketing system for issue resolution.
Serve as the point of escalation for junior cloud operations team members.
Design, architect, and improve CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
Provide guidance and expertise to cloud and automation projects.
Manage operational aspects of over a thousand cloud accounts.
Document processes, architecture, and tools on the team's Confluence page.
Utilize cloud technologies effectively for application deployment.
Deploy infrastructure-as-code using best practices.
Proactively research new technologies and perform proof of concepts.
Demonstrate analytical and logical thinking skills.
Communicate effectively across all levels using metrics and data.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience in financial services.
Proficiency in JavaScript and databases.
Experience building REST APIs and web applications.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar field.
