Since its co-founding in 1987 by Artistic Director Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas and Lin and Ted Arison, NWS has helped launch the careers of more than 1,200 alumni worldwide. In 2022 Stéphane Denève was named Artistic Director of the New World Symphony. NWS pursues its work in a Frank Gehry-designed campus that is uniquely suited to embrace the digital future of education and artistic expression. Job DescriptionDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide impeccable customer service to all patrons and guests via phone, email and in person during regular Box Office hours, performances and events by exhibiting a positive attitude, listening and resolving issues effectivelyAttend to ticket sales and other patron transactions at the Box Office windowProcess ticket orders in database (Tessitura) according to established standardsMake outbound phone calls to patrons as needed Manage communications and customer support for the VIP Membership programPerform other job-related administrative tasks as assignedQualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GED and at least one year of customer services experience, preferably in a box office setting; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESStrong verbal and written communication skills Ability to interact positively and sensitively with a variety of personalities in various settings Ability to remain calm and maintain composure during challenging situations Fluency in English required; fluency in Spanish highly desiredSome database and/or ticketing software experience required; Tessitura experience desiredSuperior time management and prioritization skills High degree of organization and attention to detail A collaborative and team-focused work style Ability to work with minimum supervision Interest in orchestral music and/or music education Strong dedication to equity, diversity and inclusionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends onsite at New World CenterAdditional InformationEEO STATEMENT: The New World Symphony is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and is an equal opportunity employer.
