Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Director, IT Operations with a strong focus on cloud technology to lead and optimize our IT operations within our national wealth management firm. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our cloud-based technology infrastructure, including oversight of deskside support, endpoint device management and building of a NOC. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with senior leadership to align technology strategies with business objectives. Your portfolio coverage will include 30 office locations, 1200 employees and growing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Infrastructure Management:
• Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Implement best practices for cloud resource management, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimization.
2. Security and Compliance:
• Enforce security policies and procedures to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Stay up-to-date with cloud security trends and proactively address potential vulnerabilities.
3. Team Leadership:
• Lead a team of technology professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture within the technology operations team.
4. Vendor Management:
• Evaluate, select, and manage cloud service providers and vendors to ensure the firm's technology needs are met effectively.
• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to optimize costs and service quality.
• Partner with MSPs as needed
5. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of disruptions.
6. Budget and Cost Management:
• Develop and manage the technology operations budget, optimizing costs while maintaining high service quality.
• Monitor cloud usage and expenses, making recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
7. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
• Implement monitoring tools and metrics to track the performance of cloud services and infrastructure.
• Provide regular reports and insights to senior management to support decision-making.
8. Project Management:
• Oversee technology projects related to cloud migrations, upgrades, and enhancements.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Proven experience (7 years) in managing cloud-based technology operations, preferably in the financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.
• Demonstrated experience in security and compliance management within a highly regulated environment.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Project management experience and familiarity with Agile methodologies is desirable.
