The Help Group is seeking an experienced GRANT WRITER with persuasive writing skills to join our dynamic development team. This position plays a strategic role in helping to raise support from foundations, corporations, and government sources requiring formal proposals for a non-profit dedicated to serving young people with special needs.

Exciting Responsibilities:

  • Successfully work both independently and as part of a team to respond to new funding opportunities through the development of persuasive letters of interest, grant proposals, budget narratives and other written communication to potential grantors or donors.
  • Review Requests for Proposals, organize critical content components and produce convincing copy to secure new funding that supports new program development and expansion of existing services 
  • Edit and proof all written communication to potential funders or donors; work with other members of the senior management team to adapt tone, style, content or format to ensure all copy is representative of the Agency’s mission, culture and brand. 

What The Help Group Is Looking For:

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in English, Journalism, Advertising, or Communications 
  • 3 years’ experience in grant writing with demonstrated success in getting projects funded
  • High level content conceptualization and strategic thinking 
  • Flawless grammatical construction, copy editing and proof reading abilities 
  • Ability to adapt tone, style, content and format to meet a variety of needs 
  • Strong organizational skills and problem solving abilities
