of Human Resources to join our executive team!

Summary of Position:

The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of Human Resources policies, programs and procedures within New England Village including: overseeing, monitoring and evaluating programs and activities of recruitment and retention; employee relations; compensation and benefits; staff training and development; and other duties in compliance with federal and state labor laws and regulations, New England Village, external agencies, programs’ and other state and local policies, regulations and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

Organizational Leadership and Management:

· Champion, oversee and ensure the high performance of the HR team within the organizational mission and vision.

· Lead a team to develop and execute against multi-year strategic goals and annual workplans

· Mentor and coach direct reports, delegating work streams effectively

· Review, modify, and approve changes to policies, programs and procedures including the implementation of regulatory changes as appropriate. Keep abreast of significant events, pending legislation and/or trends in the HR discipline. Identify and participate in initiatives to enhance the HR function. Work with legal counsel to resolve issues as appropriate.

· Develop and implement approved department budget.

· Partner with leadership and serve as the influential voice for HR strategies, philosophies, and initiatives within the organization

· Foster efficient and effective cross-functional teamwork and results-oriented deliverables

· Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality

· Serve as a contributing member of the organization’s Executive Team

Recruitment & Retention:

· Lead the Talent Acquisition function in its efforts to recruit and hire a talented workforce and partner with division leaders to foster teamwork

· Partner with leadership and staff to develop engagement and retention programs across the organization, using the employee surveys as a benchmark

· Design and implement recruitment, selection and retention system and programs. Coordinate personnel needs with department heads. Conduct exit interviews and provide relative feedback to senior managers.

Compensation & Benefits:

· Responsible for direct and indirect compensation administration including performance management, wage and salary administration and benefits. Work with consultants, as appropriate, regarding wage and salary administration, performance management and benefits.

· Ensure competitiveness with relevant organizations and work with division leaders to put employees first and create an environment where compensation and benefits packages are continually evaluated.

Employee Relations:

· Provide leadership in regards to employee relations and serve as a high-quality resource for managers dealing with issues that arise within the workforce. Coach management and staff in the proper handling of a variety of workplace issues including: compensation claims, leaves of absence, harassment, etc.

· Represent NEV at unemployment and workers compensation hearings. Receive, coordinate and respond to issues regarding policy interpretation and their application.

· Ensure the effective communication of policies, programs and procedures to staff.

Staff Training & Development:

· Provide oversight on the design, development, and implementation of the new hire orientation training program aligning with the organization’s needs and regulatory requirements.

· Provide oversight to the tracking of all trainings including annual trainings and those associated with new hire orientation. 

Perform other similar duties as responsibilities necessitate or as requested by supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

· BA/BS with focus on Human Resources and/or Business Management and a minimum of 7-10 years progressive experience in a senior human resource position.

· Senior Professional Human Resource Professional designation preferred.

· Proficiency with technology administrative systems, programs, and applications.

· Proven track record of successfully facilitating organizational change and development; and passion for NEV’s mission.

Skills and Abilities Required:

· Ability to work on Human Resource and financial projects presenting new situations where conceptual judgment, initiative, and ability, are required and to participate in formulating and carry out policies and procedures for HR function.

· Inside and outside contacts implementing policies and programs requiring a high degree of diplomacy and the ability to deal with and influence persons in all types of positions.

· Work with confidential data such as HR issues, etc. which if disclosed inadvertently could have significant external effect.
