Be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with the HR Manager to support the HR Department. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, onboarding, benefits enrollment and administration, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.

Responsibilities Summary:

  • Recruiting and onboarding for all open positions

  • Monitoring employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviewing benefits with employees and processes enrollment, changes, and cancelations. Organizing and managing annual open enrollment communications and election process

  • Administering various human resources plans and procedures for all personnel; assisting in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; assisting with preparation and maintenance of the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual

  • Maintaining all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies

  • Assisting with employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviews

  • Maintaining and processing all unemployment notices and potential charges in a timely and efficient manner. Attending unemployment hearings when necessary

  • Maintaining employee personnel files

  • Ensuring compliance and periodically auditing I-9 forms

  • Reporting, maintaining, and monitors all FMLA and workers compensation case files; following-up on open cases 

  • Maintaining human resource information system records and compiling reports from the database

  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of all employee records and personnel information

  • Maintaining compliance with state, federal, and local employment laws and regulations. As well as maintain compliance with Joint Commission requirements for the HR Department

  • Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ human resources experience
  • Ability to maintain information as highly confidential; basic financial management and time management skills; must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
