This is a hybrid role with one day in the El Segundo office every two weeks.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the AP Manager is primarily responsible for accurately recording all disbursement transactions which include vendor bills, credit cards receipts, and employee reimbursements along with ensuring vendor bills are paid in a timely manner. The AP Manager will oversee the full department and will have to work cross functionally with departments from all levels to ensure a timely month end close. The AP Manager will lead the implementation of our new AP system, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and accurately.

Daily recording of all vendor bills, company credit cards, and employee expense reports into the accounting system by utilizing our AP System, ensuring all proper information is accurately entered.
  • Design efficient and streamlined processes to address risks and to build a scalable AP department.
  • Implement new AP System (Airbase/Coupa/Netsuite).
  • Manage the AP email and systems to ensure proper recording of bills, credit card, and
  • employee expense reports.
  • Developing, implementing, improving, and enforcing budgets, policies, and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete financial, employee, and client records.
  • Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial information to management and government agencies when needed.
  • Determine capitalizable assets (Fixed Assets and Prepaids) based on our capitalization policy and treatment of other AP transactions based on needs of individual departments.
  • Reconcile the credit card statement on a monthly basis and perform Journal Entries as needed.
  • Reconcile the Bank statement on a monthly basis and perform Journal Entries as
  • needed.
  • Assist with month-end/year-end closing, as well as audits and other ad-hoc accounting projects as needed.
  • Positive attitude and a strong desire to contribute as an essential member of the team.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize while maintaining a high attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and AP processes and systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team. 

What You Have

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an AP function

  • Previous supervisor role strongly preferred.

  • Previous experience scaling AP function within a software company.

  • CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.

  • BA in Business with emphasis in accounting.

  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and management principles and accounts payable procedures.

  • Working knowledge of NetSuite and Airbase/Coupa.
