Job Summary:

The Sr. Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.

• Prepares, analyzes, and summarizes advanced reports and financial information.

• Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.

• Maintains the general ledger.

• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.

• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.

• Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.

• Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

• Reviews journal entries and/or account reconciliations prepared by other staff for accuracy and completeness

• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

• Leads special accounting projects, including but not limited to, annual corporate tax returns, unclaimed property, research, captive insurance, and inventory

• Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

• As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.

• Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

NOAH requires all new hires to have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine before their start date and be scheduled for their second dose. Qualifications

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

• Highly proficient with accounting software.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

• Ability to work independently and reliably.

Education and Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business or 4 years of equivalent experience.

• 3 years of accounting experience.

Preferred: 

• Experience in healthcare and/or non-profit accounting.

• Certified Public Accountant.

Other Requirements:
