The Senior Accountant position will report to the Accounting Manager and Controller. The Senior Accountant will work closely with management to handle day-to-day accounting, account reconciliations, and support monthly close procedures. To be successful as the senior accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, and be highly organized. This position allows a flexible hybrid option. Job Responsibilities:

• Maintains and reconciles sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, such as AP, accruals, prepaid expenses, and AR, and investigates any variances noted
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation prior to requesting disbursements.
• Prepares month-end and year-end journal entries for management approval
• Prepares account entries as required by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Partners with Revenue Cycle group to track and prepare AR/revenue entries for claim processing for all revenue streams, including following up and investigating any discrepancies
• Proactively identify areas for process enhancements and partner with other departments on improvements to help achieve scalability and to support new business initiatives
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Assists with annual audit preparations
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP
• Performs other accounting duties and supports junior staff as required or assigned

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in tax or accounting
• 3-5 years accounting experience
• 1-3 years finance experience preferred (not required)
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred (not required)
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills
• Audit experience preferred (not required)
• CPA certification preferred (not required)
