Native American Rehabilitation Assoc. of the NW is Hiring a Supported Employment Lead Near Portland, OR

The Supported Employment Supervisor will supervise Supported Employment Specialists, ensure compliance with the IPS fidelity model, and assist clients in developing goals related to employment and vocational rehabilitation that will ensure positive outcomes for clients using the IPS fidelity model.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of supported employment specialists by providing guidance, supervision, assisting with the hiring process, performance reviews, and completing any other supervisory tasks.
  • Be the point person with OSECE. Facilitate any reviews for the supported employment fidelity model, maintain a good relationship and communicate effectively with OSECE, vocational rehab, and any other community partners.
  • Understand the IPS fidelity model and ensure compliance with the fidelity model.
  • Maintain own caseload: ½ time spent in supervisor role; ½ time spent working directly with clients.
  • Engage clients in establishing trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in community settings.
  • Assist clients in learning how benefits will be affected by earned income.
  • Help client’s think about long-term employment goals, work history, strengths, justice involvement, and other factors that are related to and may affect vocational goals.
  • Complete career profile for each client and assist client with updating the profile as new experiences occur.
  • Develop individual employment plan with client that incorporates information from the client’s employment goals. Collaborate with clinicians and other providers regarding information that may be included in this plan and will be coordinated with comprehensive plan of care.
  • Support clients in connecting to, engaging with, and following through with employment opportunities.
  • Provide outreach services to potential employers, educators, community partners, and other networking contacts to promote positive community connections.
  • Work as a liaison between client and potential employer to assist with orientation, training, and engagement.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member and team leader.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings including but not limited to staff meetings, supported employment meetings, vocational rehabilitation meetings, and clinical supervisions.
  • Ability to think independently, creatively, provide sound clinical direction to supported employment specialists.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and complete timely, including but not limited to progress notes, assessments, plan of care, and other documentation that may be needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation. The supported employment supervisor will spend a good portion of their work time in the community and may transport clients.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • QMHA or eligible to become QMHA required.
  • Prior experience as a supported employment specialist required.
  • At least two years' experience providing direct services to individuals diagnosed with mental health concerns required.
  • At least one year experience in a supervisor role.
  • Training in Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is highly desirable.
  • Experience working within the American Indian/Alaska Native population highly desirable.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation for all potential hires to determine any history of sexual and child abuse and / or any other relevant history.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen for all potential hires.
  • NARA NW is fully committed to supporting sobriety. If in recovery, must have been sober/clean for a length of time sufficient to demonstrate that will be able to model sobriety.
