Title: Grants Finance Manager
Location: Oyate - 1776 SW Madison St, Portland, OR 97205
Schedule: This is a Hybrid position, Monday through Friday 8:30am-5pm.
Wage Range: $85,496 - $101,462 Exempt

Position Overview:

The Grant Finance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing all financial aspects of grants at NARA Northwest. The Grant Finance Manager will supervise a team of grant accountants and a staff accountant/invoicing specialist, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong financial analysis skills, and the ability to support program leaders in managing grant funds effectively.


What you will do:

  • Manage the financial administration of grants, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, organizational policies, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and revenue, providing regular reports to program leaders and senior management.
  • Ensure that the finance team meets monthly close process and deadlines, maintaining accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting processes.
  • Oversee grant billing, invoicing, and reimbursement processes.
  • Coordinate with grantors and auditors for financial reporting requirements and audits, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  • Review all federal draw-downs and billings before sent to the funder. Draw-down from the Federal Payment Management System (PMS) as needed.

We would like to hear from people that have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant accounting or financial management, preferably in a nonprofit or healthcare setting.
  • Experience with federal grant management preferred.
  • Possess an understanding of how to interpret funding and reporting regulations and guidelines
  • Knowledge of fiscal and business management with demonstrated competence in planning and budgeting, supervision, data collection and reporting.
  • Must have working knowledge of GAAP principles, audit process, federal cost principles, grant administration, compliance and property management requirements.
