Position: Patient Access Services Care Coordinator (Medical Scheduler)

Company: My Left Foot Children’s Therapy

Location: 7501 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Las Vegas, NV

Job Type: Full-time onsite ** NOT remote**

Schedule: Full-time, 9 A.M. to 6 P.M., Wednesday through Sunday (Tue/Wed Off)

Pay: 15.00 -17.00 hourly (depending on experience)

My Left Foot Children’s Therapy was founded 20 years ago, with the same mission that we still hold dear today – “to make a REAL difference in the life of EACH child who walks through our doors.” At My Left Foot Children’s Therapy, we provide outpatient pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to thousands of children every week. We currently have 6 pediatric outpatient clinics located in Las Vegas, NV, and the surrounding cities and communities of Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, and Green Valley. The success and continual growth we have achieved over the past 20 years is due to 1.) Our unwavering focus on providing our patients with the highest quality of care and 2.) Treating our employees the way WE would want to be treated.

About the Position:

The Patient Access Services Care Coordinators at My Left Foot Children’s Therapy play a vital role of ensuring that the pediatric patients who have been referred to My Left Foot Children’s Therapy receive the physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and feeding therapy they need. Our PAS Care Coordinators work as integral members of our team at My Left Foot Children’s Therapy, correctly placing each child with the therapist or therapists who have the expertise and experience best suited to meet the individual needs of each specific child. Our PAS Care Coordinators also work as a team with the families of our patients, finding the best appointment times for each individual family’s situation. Selecting the right therapist and the right appointment time for a child is crucial to each child’s success; that’s why our PAS Care Coordinators are so important! This is a full-time position, working onsite daily.

Your Responsibilities as a Patient Access Services Care Coordinator:

  • To be a vital part of a dynamic team of 25 Patient Access Services Care Coordinators
  • To put 100% effort into finding an appointment time that works well for each child, and each child’s family, with a therapist who has the skills and experience necessary to provide the best treatment for the child
  • To adeptly use Practice Pro software to schedule children for recurring weekly therapy services
  • To demonstrate compassion and caring when listening to parents share with you their family situation and needs
  • To always show kindness and compassion to families canceling appointments due to unfortunate circumstances
  • To do your best to offer all open appointment times to all families waiting for services for their children – we want as many children as possible to receive the therapy they need
  • To accurately and professionally document the information communicated during each scheduling call
  • To always give 110% when attempting to resolve scheduling conflicts and find better appointment times for a family
  • To accurately update patient information in the practice management software
  • To maintain strictest confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
  • To use exceptional interpersonal skills when interacting or communicating with My Left Foot Children’s Therapy employees, patients, providers, payors, referrers, or vendors
  • To handle patient questions and/or concerns with exceptional courtesy, kindness, and respect, and in a timely manner
  • To maintain confidentiality and respect for personal information of patients and employees of My Left Foot Children’s Therapy
  • To uphold the mission, ethics, policies, and procedural standards of My Left Foot Children’s Therapy
  • To foster a culture of inclusivity, equality, and respect between our employees, our management, our patients, and our community
  • To follow all directives of the PAS Manager, as well as the PAS Care Coordinator Supervisor and Assistant Supervisors
  • To report directly to the Patient Access Services Care Coordinator Supervisor

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Business preferred

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of medical scheduling experience
  • Job longevity of at least 2 years at one company within the past 2 ½ years
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent team skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Hand and eye functioning necessary to work on computers for extended periods of time
  • Communication skills necessary to communicate over the phone, over text, and in-person
