MWH Constructors, a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Department Insurance Manager to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and manage insurance-related matters within the legal department. The Legal Department Insurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all insurance policies and procedures, reviewing and analyzing insurance contracts, and providing expert advice and guidance on insurance matters.

Essential Functions

• Develop and implement insurance policies and procedures within the legal department.
• Ensure compliance with all insurance regulations and industry standards.
• Review and analyze insurance contracts, identifying potential risks, and making recommendations for improvement.
• Provide legal guidance on insurance-related matters, fostering effective risk management strategies.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external insurance providers to negotiate and manage insurance claims and coverage.
• Collaborate with the legal team to ensure all project placements are reviewed and in compliance.
• Ensure accuracy, completion, and appropriate filing of all insurance-related documents.
• Support Builders Risk placements, renewals, Certificates of Insurance (COI), and subcontractor compliance.
• Stay informed on changes in insurance laws, regulations, and industry trends, and advise the legal department on any potential impact.
• Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of insurance policies and procedures.
• Train and educate staff on insurance policies, ensuring a comprehensive understanding within the legal department.
• Manage relationships with insurance brokers and underwriters to ensure favorable terms and conditions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Law, legal studies, business administration, construction management, or a related field. An equivalent combination of experience, skills, and training will be considered.
• Proven experience in insurance management or related roles, preferably within a legal department.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong background and experience in insurance placements.
• Knowledge and experience in handling claims.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in legal research and analysis.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Reliable, proactive, and resourceful.

Compensation

• The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $190,000/yr. depending on experience.
