Under the direction of the Creative Director, the term Senior Graphic Designer would execute graphic design projects for a range of fundraising initiatives and effective membership recruitment and retention. Responsibilities include the design and production of all fundraising campaign communication materials, both print and digital, along with sponsorship and foundation proposals. This is a three-year term position. 

Essential Functions:

This position would be responsible for receiving information, ideas, requests, and written and verbal direction from the Creative Director and internal stakeholders. This role will require excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and the creative vision to conceptualize projects and bring them to fruition from start to finish. 

The key responsibilities of this position would be:

• Design and produce materials to support the Museum’s fundraising and campaign initiatives, including brochures and modular materials focused on individual initiatives, website features to support fundraising goals, ads for membership acquisition, invitations and email templates, environmental graphics, social media posts, video typography and animation. 
• Manage the design and production process from start to finish. Includes participation in client meetings, project management, creating and presenting layouts, trafficking proofs, securing estimates, and production supervision.
• Work independently to develop concepts and layouts. Generate multiple solutions for review by supervisor and internal clients.
• Communicate and collaborate frequently with staff members from External Relations and other departments at the Museum.

Secondary Functions:

• Manage photo shoots of public events, exhibitions, and Museum visitors. Research photography and format images.
• Communicate with outside vendors (printers, fabricators, designers, photographers) to assure quality and maintain deadlines.
• Perform other related duties as required or directed.

Qualification Requirements and Characteristics:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
• 4-5 years of experience as a graphic designer
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and MS Office
• Proficiency with Adobe XD, Sketch, or Figma
• Proficiency with After Effects to create motion graphics for video titles and typography, social media posts, etc.
• Proficiency working with e-mail marketing tools like WordFly, MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.
• Proficiency with web and interactive design
• Proficiency with design of icons and information graphics
• Familiarity with project management software like Basecamp and Trello
• Strong information design skills, including the ability to take a raw manuscript and assets, and organize into a clear, effective communication
• Familiarity with art and art history
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of graphic design trends and best practice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range

Three-year term position

Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
