Muscogee Staffing Solutions, LLC is Hiring a Remote Medical Office Clerk

Title: Medical Office Clerk

Work Location: Remote - Seattle, WA

Work schedule: Full Time - Normal duty hours are between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and may range between the hours of 0600 –1800 hours, with a 9-hour day, consisting of 8 hours of work and a 1-hour unpaid lunch.

Muscogee Staffing Solutions, LLC (MSS) is currently looking for a Medical Office Clerk to provide Medical administrative support services necessary to support the various Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) of The Air Force Recruiting Service (AFRS). The medical office Clerk will process the necessary paperwork to reduce the processing timeline from the recruiting operations and admit the candidates to the Delayed Entry Program (DEP). This will be a mix of telework or remote work supporting the Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) and in-person, in an office environment, for the contractor personnel supporting HQ AFRS, with some travel.

GENERAL TASKS:

  • Arranges and schedules medical appointments and determines patient eligibility for services.
  • Relays general instructions to patients or make referrals to other sections.
  • Obtains updates and files medical records as needed.
  • Organizes and researches patient records, extracts needed information, and reviews records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency within established guidelines.
  • Ensures arrival of medical records prior to appointment(s).
  • Initiates and locates patient medical records as needed.
  • Obtains documentation as requested by healthcare providers (test results or documentation not yet filed in records).
  • Performs other administrative and clerical duties in support of medical care and operational support.
  • Creates appointment schedules and templates in the patient appointment computer system.
  • Conducts end-of-day processes at the close of business and resolves any delinquent or pending appointments in the computer system.
  • In addition to the standard position description for a Medical Office Clerk, having access to the Health Information Exchange (HIE) applies under this contract.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The candidate should possess an understanding of applicable laws and medical terminology.
  • Typing 50 WPM is required.
  • Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office Outlook, excel, Internet.
  • General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • General office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties and answer telephones.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Education. High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency. Medical terminology.
  • Experience. At least six (6) months of experience in an office setting, medical preferred. Work Environment/Physical Requirements. The work is primarily sedentary. However, there may be some physical demands. Requirements include prolonged walking, standing, sitting or bending.
  • Knowledge of AHLTA, CHCS, and/or MHS GENESIS, DEERS . Military Filing System – by sponsor social security, terminal digit order, color-coded and blocked filing system. Contents of a military medical record, layout, sections, family members prefix designation, forms used in an MTF, and the medical record tracking procedures.
  • The Medical Office Clerk may be required to travel during the performance of this contract to attend meetings, conferences, and training. The Medical Office Clerk will be authorized travel expenses consistent with the substantive provisions of the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) and the limitation of funds specified in this contract. All travel requires Government approval/authorization and notification to the COR 15 days prior to travel.
  • The Medical Office Clerk may occasionally be required to visit or attend meetings at their designated MEPS location (within 60 miles) during the performance of the services.
  • Must have access to an internet network with minimum speeds of at least 300 Mbps,
  • Must have access to personal cell phone.

Orientation:

All Personnel will complete any initial training, annual training, and orientation training required by HQ AFRS. Personnel will travel to JBSA-Randolph, San Antonio, TX, for their initial orientation and to receive their common access cards (CAC) and government-furnished equipment.

Required Systems Knowledge:

  • Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Tech Application (AHLTA)
  • Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and/or MHS GENESIS
  • Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)
  • Military medical records filing system.

Additional Requirements:

  • The successful candidate must be able to complete and pass extensive background investigations and pre – pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Previous experience of working with Federal Government Agencies is highly desired.
  • Candidate must live within 60 miles from office location.
