Why not enjoy the fruits of your labor, and the vegetables and most delectable of proteins, too? Essential Job Functions/Major Responsibilities: Line Cooks are responsible for the daily preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner. Line Cooks work a station in the kitchen as scheduled by the Executive Chef and execute all related duties of that station.Prepares and fabricates items for use in the kitchen according to established recipes and procedures.Stores product as received and rotates stock according to established procedures.Maintains coolers and storage areas and ensures cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all areas.Keeps workstation clean, sanitary and orderly in accordance with health department regulations.Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as established by the Executive Chef.Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.Prepares dishes for members and guests with food allergies and intolerances.Works at an efficient and consistent pace.Complies with all Club safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices. Identifies and reports unsafe or hazardous work conditions. Reports all workplace injuries and illnesses to supervisor.Promotes the MAC code of conduct in club activities and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service to membersSecondary Functions:Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.Assists in the dish room during times of high volume.Assists in the kitchen with expediting and plating as needed.Participates in all club related training classes. Job Scope:Essential job function requires the use of all kitchen equipment including knives, slicers, chopper, mixer, salad spinner, deep fryer, steam kettles, ovens and grills. Supervisory Responsibilities:Is responsible for all food products on station.Responsible for the cleaning of and around workstation.Assists in cleaning of all Food and beverage outlets. Interpersonal Contacts:A successful candidate will possess the following skills.Treat all individuals with respect Collaborating and working well together with othersClear communication skillsConflict management and resolution skillsFlexibility in thinking and operating stylePatience when dealing with others Specific Job Skills:Ability to work at least one station on the line successfully.Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.Ability to communicate effectively in verbal form.Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers. Education and/or Experience:One year of line cook experience in a similar environment.Possession of valid food-handler’s permit.Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures. Job Conditions:Must be willing and able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.The essential job functions require considerable walking, standing for long periods of time on a hard surface, bending, pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting up to 55 lbs regularly unassisted and the stamina to maintain effectiveness for long and busy shifts. This position spends 100% of the time standing. Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water. Must be able to speak, read and understand cooking directions (e.g. order tickets, recipes, etc.). Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy with correction. Must be able to see 20/20 vision with correction.
