As the Recreational Aquatics Coordinator, you will lead our lifeguard team to ensure a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for members. Your role involves overseeing daily pool activities, managing staff, and maintaining a secure pool environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMake impactful decisions in the absence of the Aquatics Supervisor and/or Aquatics Manager.Prioritize safety, enforce health codes, and manage lifeguard schedules.Act as a resource for members regarding aquatic programming.Lead staff during emergencies and ensure prompt action for safety.Essential Job FunctionsAvailability and Schedule: Must be available to work weekends, posting weekly pool schedules.Professionalism and Leadership: Project a positive attitude and promote the club's code of conduct. Supervise and monitor lifeguard staff, collaborating on staffing issues. Address member complaints and coordinate staff training.Certifications and Safety: Assist in tracking certifications and managing emergencies. Provide recommendations for facility improvements and equipment needs. Comply with safety policies and assist in lifeguard coverage. Promote member participation in aquatics programs.Reporting and Instruction: Compile pool attendance quarterly and instruct certification courses. Maintain regular attendance. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Participate in club-related training classes.What You’ll Bring:Certifications: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR-PR, and First Aid certifications.Completion of American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification within the first year.Certified Pool Operator license or equivalent preferred.Experience:Previous lifeguard and swim instruction experience.Prior aquatics supervisory or lead worker experience preferred.Administrative Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office procedures.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Leadership:Ability to motivate and develop staff.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members and staff. What You'll Gain:At Multnomah Athletic Club, we believe in taking care of our team members.
