MSP Diesel Solutions is Hiring a General Manager Near Memphis, TN
Summary Description:
Responsible for the oversight and management of the Diesel Fuel Shop and Drive-In team operations. Organize daily work schedules, and be the primary point of contact for customers. This position requires a positive attitude and the willingness to go above and beyond to meet customer needs, help shape and train the mechanic team, and work with management to stabilize and grow the business. The General Manager will typically spend 50% of their time on the floor and 50% of their time talking with customers and performing administrative functions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the oversight and management of the Diesel Fuel Shop and Drive-In team operations. Organize daily work schedules, and be the primary point of contact for customers. This position requires a positive attitude and the willingness to go above and beyond to meet customer needs, help shape and train the mechanic team, and work with management to stabilize and grow the business. The General Manager will typically spend 50% of their time on the floor and 50% of their time talking with customers and performing administrative functions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees staff and ensures that work orders are completed timely.
- Oversees the process of work flow through the Fuel Shop and Drive-In.
- Ensures all work is performed in compliance with OE Regulations and internal procedures.
- Ensures high quality standards with repairs at the lowest achievable cost while protecting and maintaining company assets.
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of vehicle systems, components and design characteristics.
- Ensure that all shop tools and test equipment is in proper condition.
- Service and maintain all testing and cleaning equipment.
- Must possess excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills, as well as have the ability to influence and make decisions by applying independent judgment.
- Greets customers and assist them with any inquiries they may have, either by phone or in person. Must be able to troubleshoot concerns.
- Keeps customer informed on completion times, costs, and possible changes.
- Works with customers to build relationships and assure concerns are addressed.
- Resolves customer complaints to satisfaction and keeps upper management informed of complaints/concerns.
- Ensures that all tickets and invoices are processed daily.
- Maintains all open tickets and POs in the system.
- Completes the OEROB report daily.
- Completes quotes for customers on pumps, injectors, etc.
- Assigns Fuel Shop Technicians all work assignments.
- Documents orders to ensure the technician is able to properly diagnose and repair.
- Assists in training staff and identify staff development opportunities.
- Oversees the overhauling and rebuilding of pumps and other equipment.
- Purchases and/or requisitions equipment as well as tools, parts, materials, and supplies used in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
- Prioritizes required services, and be prepared to provide options upon customer request.
- Documents declines for services and conducts follow-up on future service
- Be familiar with the product well enough to answer characteristic and operational questions regarding the customer’s repairs.
- File warranty claims in a timely manner.
- Ensure that shop cores are returned to vendors in a timely manner.
- Ensures that items are shipped to the appropriate customer.
- Responsible for ordering parts in a timely manner.
- Performs other tasks as required by VP of Operations or Upper Management.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Ability to speak and listen effectively
- Customer Service experience
- Basic computer skills
