Preeminent Manhattan Personal Injury Law Firm seeks an experienced Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) to aid in leading the Firm’s management and administrative functions. The COO has primary responsibility for management of the staff, business and non-legal aspects of the firm. The candidate must have a strong business acumen, human resource skills and must bring a “firm first” approach to this position.
Duties and responsibilities of the COO include but are not limited to:
· Supervising and managing staff and all non-legal daily operations of the firm
· Enforcing compliance with firm’s protocols
· Ensuring the compliance goals of the firm are met
· Working closely with the CEO on all business matters
· Developing and implementing strategies, procedures and business plans needed to enhance firm growth
· Creating and implementing the infrastructure for firm wide accountability
· Analyzing internal operations and identifying areas of enhancement
· Cultivating and providing opportunities for talent within the organization
· Monitoring performance with tracking and establishing corrective measures as needed
· Preparing and analyzing detailed firm wide reports
· Supervising and overseeing all areas of facilities, human resources, and administration of the firm.
The ideal candidate:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration or another relevant field
· 3-5 years as COO
· Law firm experience a plus
· Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
· Superior management and leadership skills
· Capable of handling multiple priorities
· Ability to encourage and motivate employees while maintaining consistent office practices and procedures
· Must be highly organized
· Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations
