MRC Global is Hiring a Financial Reporting Manager Near Houston, TX
- Coordinate the preparation and review of monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports. These reports include the annual (10-K), quarterly (10-Q) and periodic (8-K) reports required by the SEC;
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly internal management reports;
- Assist in the preparation of Board of Directors and Board Committee materials;
- Maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting
- Assist with financial planning and modeling
- Review and analyze GAAP and SEC reporting requirements;
- Perform and review account reconciliations and prepare journal entries;
- Research to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions and technical accounting issues;
- Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job;
- Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illness immediately.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work;
- 5 years progressive accounting/finance experience;
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills to interpret complex documents and financial information, strong time management and organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines, a high degree of accuracy in work products;
- Working knowledge of, and adherence to, accepted accounting principles as well as the ability to effectively research accounting guidance and communicate the recommended approach to accounting issues impacting MRC Global;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear and concise manner;
- Demonstrated PC and software skills, familiarity with financial computer programs including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with OneStream and Oracle not required but beneficial;
- C.P.A. certification
- Ability to effectively handle stress in order to meet established deadlines and/or time sensitive ad hoc inquiries. Must be customer service oriented to establish good rapport with various stakeholders using written correspondence, proper phone etiquette and other effective interpersonal skills;
- Personal and professional integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others.
- Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status;
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and to respond to inquiries;
- Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines and expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
