The Cedarburg Art Museum (CAM) is a community gathering space. We are known for our incredible art exhibitions, fun and educational events, workshops, discussion groups, and the best volunteers in Ozaukee County. Founded in 2013, the Cedarburg Art Museum has become a place to celebrate the arts. Over 11,500 visitors each year make the museum a vital part of Cedarburg’s downtown historic district.

Would you like to:

• Provide leadership and communicate regularly with staff and key volunteers to assure the museum is on track to meeting its goals in the best possible way.
• Work closely to organize and grow a dynamic volunteer base through regular interactions and recognition.
• Attend meetings of key committees to provide guidance regarding the museum’s broader goals
• Establish regular communication with volunteers, membership, and community members for upcoming events, workshops, and needed volunteer roles.
• Cultivate relationships within the Community for fundraising
• Approach prospective sponsors for exhibitions and programs
• Fund development in support of programs and events (in-kind, grants, and corporate)
• Attend Community meetings and events as needed to represent the museum, develop key critical relationships, and support arts advocacy in the greater community.
• Develop existing programs to support the museum’s mission, raise awareness of the arts, and produce revenue for the museum in support of exhibitions and other activities

The successful candidate will:

• Knowledge of nonprofit or museum administrative procedures and facility management
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Highly organized with the ability to work independently
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks successfully
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills
• Ability to acquire and utilize knowledge of subject areas necessary to perform duties
• Experience creating budgets and other financial reports
• Ability to articulate financial matters to the Board and staff
• Fund development experience, including securing in-kind and corporate donations and event sponsorships; grant writing and reporting experience
• Background in Art, Museum Studies, Nonprofit Management, or other relevant experience. Experience in event planning and execution, and nonprofit management. M.A. preferred.
