We are seeking a part-time Accountant who enjoys process improvement, problem solving, analysis and collaborating with others to drive manufacturing excellence. This role offers a variety of cost accounting responsibilities, along with some general accounting tasks, and reports to the Accounting Manager. The primary purpose of this position is to help the company retain a competitive edge. The ideal candidate would be a detail-oriented self-starter with an investigative and inquisitive nature.

Compensation based on experience. $28.00 - $40.00 per hour. This is an onsite position offering a flexible work schedule of 18-24 hours per week. Schedule is open to negotiation, but must be performed within the Company’s normal business house of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

We are an injection molding company that produces high quality parts for the medical device, agricultural and industrial industries. Scope of Work for part-time Accountant:

• Regularly review pricing of custom parts in order to maintain profitable margins.
• Perform various inventory analysis on an ongoing basis, including inventory movements, run sizes, and economic order quantities.
• Assist with price evaluations for fittings annually.
• Reconcile all inventory accounts at month-end.
• Create new, and update existing, Bill of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system as required to ensure accurate costing of all products.
• Analyze revenue, job costs, manufacturing costs, variances and margins to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Oversee Inventory Cycle Counts on a weekly and annual basis.
• Aid in revenue forecasting.
• Assist with the overhead calculation annually.
• Complete special projects, tasks or analyses as assigned in the areas of costing, inventory and general accounting.
• Serve as the backup for accounts payable processing.

Qualifications and Skills for part-time Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or manufacturing experience (preferred)
• 5 years of accounting experience
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Crystal Reports experience (preferred)
• Exercise independent judgment and perform advanced accounting tasks
• Work professionally work with confidential data
• Must be highly detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills
• Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve common goals
• Provide work leadership to staff and clerical workers that support the accounting functions
• Must promote and maintain good business relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers

Physical Job Requirements

• Ability to spend 90% of the work day sitting and working on a computer.
