Montgomery Township is Hiring an Administrative Assistant Near Montgomeryville, PA

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This entry-level position involves office work requiring communication, computer, and math skills. This position works with minimal supervision and involves regular communication and interaction with the Director of Planning & Zoning / Zoning Officer, fellow co-workers, general public, contractors, residents, other government entities, and private businesses.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Planning & Zoning / Zoning Officer

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Employee has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Screens and redirects incoming telephone calls; records messages; handles non-technical phone requests, permitting questions and planning questions.

Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from the computer.

Prepares letters, reports, memoranda, forms and documents from copy, draft or instructions.

Processes and maintains records for Contractor Registration.

Works with Planning & Permits Associate in the intake and processing of permits for review, issuance, inspections, and finalization of permits.

Enter inspection results into the computer system / permit software.

Follow up with open permits for updates on projects and final inspections.

Operates the Geographic Information System (GIS), including all associated hardware and software. Assist with data entry on the GIS system.

Scan documents and link to appropriate databases / GIS System.

Perform general file maintenance duties and other duties as may be assigned.

Maintains familiarity with the Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision/Land Development Ordinance, Property Maintenance and Building Codes.

Ability to organize and prioritize work load effectively.

Possess good visual acuity (near vision continuously, mid vision occasionally).

General knowledge of activity pertaining to specific customer’s problems.

JOB LOCATION: (Place where work is performed)Township Administration Building, 1001 Stump Rd., Montgomeryville, PA. 

EQUIPMENT: (Examples of machines, devices, tools, etc., used in job performance)

Computer, telephone, calculator, fax, copy machine, printer

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalent, required.

Experience in typing, Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and various computer programs, including GIS system, preferred.

Knowledge and experience in related field, combining zoning, construction, housing and inspection, preferred.

Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License required.

Schedule would be Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 10:00.
