Montefiore New Rochelle is Hiring a Chef Manager (Full-Time) Near New Rochelle, NY

Join our food service department and make a difference at a great community based hospital, Montefiore New Rochelle. The hospital is part of the Montefiore Health System, a premier academic health system serving more than 3 million people living in the New York City region and Hudson Valley. We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Chef Manager to join our team

The Chef Manager is accountable for directing and supervising the production staff in all phases of hot and cold food production for patients, cafeteria and kiosk. The Chef Manager innovates and orchestrates the creating, testing, costing, standardizing and implementing of foods that are palatable and visually appealing, yet adhere to the dietary restrictions and cost limitations inherent in a hospital environment.

Job Responsibilities

- Lead and direct all Food Service Department personnel in the daily preparation of hot and cold food for patients and cafeteria clientele.

- Confer with Assistant Director and other management staff in menu planning and development

- Prepare daily work assignments for all production personnel

- Work with Purchasing Manager to evaluate all purchased food products

- Determine daily ordering needs and requisition all food items needed for production from the storeroom\

- Evaluate job performance of all production staff. Initiate disciplinary action and recommend termination when necessary. Interviews and recommends for hire

- Evaluate the equipment needs of the operation. Initiates maintenance and repairs and recommend placements

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate of Culinary Arts Program

Experience: 5 years as a production manager or equivalent experience in a large volume feeding operation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,775.65 per year
