Moma is Hiring a Summer 2024 Internship - Retail, Business Development and Merchandising Near New York, NY

About the Summer Internship Program
The Summer Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students and beginning professionals with practical experience in a specific area of museum work atThe Museum of Modern Art.Each Tuesday, interns participate in professional development activities designed to increase understanding of the Museum's various collections, exhibitions, and departments. The Museum hosts approximately 25 interns per season in just about every department. Participants may arrange for academic credit through their school, but it is not a requirement.
MoMA Summer 2024 internships require a commitment of four days per week. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. One must have a minimum of two years of college completed (or equivalent) by June 2024 in order to apply.
All summer applications are due on Wednesday, April 10 by 11:59 PM EST.

Department Projects & Tasks
The intern will conduct market research for licensing and wholesale including competitive analysis, category and product trends, brand and marketing trends to support growth of these businesses;data analysis and reporting for licensing and wholesale to inform business decision making. They'll participate in development of trade show presence and new business presentations including ideation. Present and assist management, including photos, pitch decks and resource hub for competitive activations. Review and Process Product Submissions, Organize and Index our Holiday Cardand Art Reproduction Archives as well as assist with managing the Gift Guide PLU list and samples.
Department Requirements
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office would be helpful. Art historical knowledge is a plus. Organization skills and business/Retail Merchandising interest is a plus. Requires both analytic and creative thinking skills.Attention to detail, organization and communication skills are a must. Excel, PPT and Google Suite proficiency, interest in retail trends and knowledge of/interest in art are also important.
